It's getting cold and I need an outdoor heater (patio)!

Gentleman!

I've been lurking and reading for a little while, not ever really having purpose or reason to post, until just now. I live up in Boston, and tend to smoke outside (due to lease stipulations and such). I have a lovely little screened in patio that has been home for the last few months, but the temperature is starting to drop. What do you guys know about heating those kinds of patios. I've been looking into buying a portable propane patio heater(I feel more comfortable paying for my propane rather than splitting the electricity with my roommates) , but I'm not sure what size i should be looking out to squeeze out the mild days of winter, and most days of fall that are left.

Where should i be looking? What should i be looking for? Anyone else do this?

I work at lowes and we typically keep a stand-up propane powered space heater around at a reasonably good price. I'd look into putting an overstuffed comfortable chair, ottoman, and end-table/smoking station/tobacco cabinet in as furnishings sensibly arranged in relation to something like this: http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/how-to ... index.html

make sure you check local ordinances and/or building codes, as well as your rent's or home owner's insurance... and have adequate fireproofing on the floor, adjacent walls, etc..
