I bought about 3 pipe lighters a few months ago that have tampers built in to them. They are generally pretty handy as all the rest of my nails and czech tools tend to hide from me for some reason. so far i've not managed to loose any of the lighters and can usually find one when I need it.

I have always used one of the "three in one" cheap tamper, but recently changed to just using the tamper that forms part of my Ronson lighter. It is the same as the one that forms part of the Old Boy. Much lighter, and easier to use really.

I use the built in one in my lighter, I find it handy as when removed I use the spike end to give the bowl a stir sometimes.

it's silly...it's basically a $2000 tool to replace your finger. it's like having a solid gold tiffany nose picker.

On the other hand, it would be a nice gift to give to a pipe-smoking partner retiring from a law firm or something along those lines. A relative of mine was given an antique white gold Montegrappa pen (beaucoup $) as a thank you for some business thing. as an important gift, I can see it.
