Watching 'Wolf Hall' from the book by Hilary Mantel, set in Tudor England and it is brilliant. Fantastic atmosphere, acting and period detail throughout. A terrific sense of tension and menace as the series unfurls. Just finished Episode 4 out of 6 and cannot wait for the conclusion of this first series. All based around the character of Thomas Cromwell and his rise and influence under Henry VIII. If you haven't yet caught it, I can recommend it for the history buffs among you.

PS incidentally and coincidentally, tying in with a book by CJ Sansom 'Lamentations' one of a series based around a lawyer, Matthew Shardlake, in the reign of the great and terrible Henry. Seems I'm having a Tudor moment these days.

One of mine too but not much acting in this movie as I watch for my love of (this type of) racing and nostalgia.

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" with Gary Oldman. I'm not sure how many times I've watched this one but add one more.

Watching on iPlayer a fascinating series called 'Dickensian', which is an original idea based on Dickens' characters and bringing them together to create a whole new story. Very atmospheric, great acting and most enjoyable. A unique concept and I can see this being adapted to all sorts of other novels, themes and genres. Great stuff.

It's an anime (Japanese animation) series, mate, and a new favourite of mine. Like you, I don't watch broadcast television, but I have hundreds of DVDs and Blu-rays :D

Schoolgirl Modoka Kaname meets a strange creature called Kyubey, who offers to grant her one wish if she will enter into a contract with him and become a 'magical girl' and fight against bizarre, destructive beings called 'witches'. However, this is a contract that should not be entered into lightly.

The artwork is indeed fantastic, as is everything else about it :D
