New Rubens Rhodesians, a Story

Postby thefoolish » Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:04 pm

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to share a cool new acquisition. I know a lot of you know about my obsession with Rubens Rhodesians. A week or so ago, I was able to acquire three! But it isn't the numbers alone that made this week so special.

One of those pipes came from Neill Archer Roan, the well-known figure in the pipe world, while I was tipped off about another by our very own PapaBear. Both Neill and PapaBear make an appearance in my blog describing the whole event, which I won't bore you with on this post.

If you want to read the full story, see the newest post here: http://pipeschool.blogspot.com/

Cheers,
thefoolish Ethan

You have put together a great looking collection, I'm very impressed! I hope Luca comes to the Gateway show again this year. He debuted a awesome and affordable magnum size pipe collection that he commissioned from his stable of carvers two years ago. Brand, shape and general collections are great and truly a sight to see but nothing (!!!!!) trips my trigger like a brand/shape collection. The inspiration for my Castello shape 15 collection was the great award winning Castello shape 84 and Dunhill bulldog collections that were displayed at pipe shows. Inspecting the subtle to wild variations in a particular shape is very cool for a collector. :ugeek:
