Greetings fellow pipers

Hi everyone, long time no visit!

Some of you may remember me, most of you probably don't! So it's been about 3 years since I posted on here so thought I had best drop a line in the intros first!

Where have I been? All over! Last three years have been hectic - moved house four times; finally settled now in Guzz, having bought our own home. In between Scotland and now, well I have been to the Antarctic again, couple of visits to the sunny gulf and did 4 months in Sierra Leone when the Ebola was kicking off. Left the sea after that and went to work for defence ashore. Still in defence now but no longer working for Navy Command. Oh and I got married and had a little boy who is the light of my life - he's 16 months now!

So yeah, life kinda got in the way but for the best!Am primarily using an e cig for nicotine now, but I have a shed and my dear wife tolerates my nightly visit to the external man cave!

I'm no longer posting videos - social media is a bit too iffy these days!

I'm no longer a tobacco whore either; I just have HOTW for the most part but still enjoy a bowl of Condor every now and again. I guess I just found MY tobacco but I still enjoy talking about it hence my return. My collection of pipes is down to a couple of Petes and a few cobs now too as I don't have the space but I still keep an eye out for a bargain!

I hope those of you that remember me are well; to the rest of you, hello!

Fine and dandy, thanks, though pretty tired right now as I've just finished the third of three night-shifts. Going to bed now :)

Thanks mate. Certainly seen some sights! Particular one springs to mind is seeing the entire ships company of Argus go in a blind panic because a fruit bat landed aboard during the Ebola crisis (one of the disease vectors)... until it turned out said bat was in fact a kind of crow! Never trust a bootneck or Wren nurse when it comes to zoology!!

Not sure what Tapatalk is, but you don't sound too enamoured with it at the moment. Not to worry. Things will be fine, I'm sure.
Thanks for the story of the bat-cum-crow. One would think they can be easily distinguished but then again, when health scares are uppermost, you never know.
Much opportunity for you re pipes in these exotic climes?

Fear oft distorts perception, as we have seen, and continue to see, on a much larger scale :(

Not really; pipe baccy quite hard to control me by as the purser never had any so you're reliant on local stops. Interestingly on Argus a lot of the bootnecks were smoking church warden pipes - quite a strange sight!
