Hi from Connecticut

Postby sherwojx » Fri Feb 26, 2010 12:53 am

I've been following you guys for awhile now. I've been smoking the pipe for about a year. You guys have cost me a fortune. I've been buying and trying
everything. I'm really enjoying it. It seems like I know you guys already. I'm new to this computer and forum thing so forgive me if I stumble.

Wife: No, What are you really thinking? Hmmm, That this pipe and tobacco are really good together!
Wife: Ok, now tell me what you are thinking so hard about? *Insert random ponderous thought here*

Nice to have you post here. Pipesmoking can be an impoverishing pasttime. All the more reason, and a decent excuse, to buy lots of tubs of OTCs, like Half&Half and PA.

Welcome aboard. To the cost of pipesmoking I will say I find quite efficient.
Recently i made a $100 order of tobacco. This was a total of 11 tins at 50g each. For me this is nearly a years supply. Even if we double it for a heavier smoker you are still quite a bit cheaper than cigs, which cost my wife (and me by default since she stays home) $80 a month.

I can vouch for this. I quit smoking cigs in December. I was spending $80 of the bi-weekly payday on Marlboro's. I had a pack a day habit, they cost more here in Hawaii. I have been spending abot $50 every couple of weeks on some pipe tobacco, including buying estates off of ebay at the rate of 4 every pay period. Far cheaper not to mention enjoyable. A great hobby, and it keeps me out of trouble! :)

PS welcome aboard John.
