Went back through the TOTM topics and this is what I came up with for previous months.

Oct 2011: William P. Solomon - Presbyterian Mixture
Sept 2011: Rattray - Hal O' the Wynd
Aug 2011: G.L. Pease - JackKnife Plug

June 2011: Hearth & Home - Classic Burley Kake
May 2011: Hearth & Home - Larry's Blend
April 2011: Peter Stokkebye - Luxury Navy Flake
Mar 2011: Cornell & Diehl - Morley's Best
Feb 2011: Hearth & Home - Anniversary Kake
Jan 2011: Solani - Aged Burley Flake
Dec 2010: McClelland - Wilderness
Nov 2010: Orlik - Golden Sliced
Oct 2010: Cornell & Diehl - Big n' Burley
Sept 2010: Cornell & Diehl - Billy Budd
Aug 2010: Cornell & Diehl - Crooner
July 2010: Cornell & Diehl - Exhausted Rooster
June 2010: G.L. Pease - Chelsea Morning
May 2010: OTC Tobaccos
April 2010: G.L. Pease - Union Square
Mar 2010: Peter Stokkebye - Escudo Navy Deluxe
Feb 2010: Five Brothers
Jan 2010: None
Dec 2009: None
Nov 2009: None
Oct 2009: None
Sept 2009: None
Aug 2009: None
July 2009: G.L. Pease - Union Square

Thanks Travis! Much appreciated. Maybe Paul can make this list into a sticky.

Looks like we haven't done too many of GLP's excellent Lat blends. I propose either Lagonda or Meridiam, both superb Balkans.

We also haven't done a Lakeland yet. While I'm not fond of them, it's something every smoker needs to try. The only one that I really enjoy (that barely makes the Lakeland classification in terms of flavourants) is GH Best Brown #2, a very fine Va.

Funny you should mention Best Brown #2, I am actually smoking my first bowl ever of this right now. I am finding I really have an affinity for everything Lakleland or Lakeland like I have tried so far.

Best Brown #2 is probably my all around favorite tobacco blend.

People may be interested in trying either of the Lakeland Brickle blends, to experience an American take on the traditional British style of flavoring. I like them both, but I'd suggest maybe Lakeland Brickle Fortissimo as it's great quality, slightly stronger without being overwhelming in nicotine, and more affordable. It's actually more expensive gram for gram than the original, but is sold in 4oz packages for less than 10 bucks, so it's definitely a winning blend in terms of affordability.

I too have been interested in trying some more lat blends from Pease. I'm especially interested in trying Quiet Nights.

So this is what I am thinking

Nov: Nightcap or Early Morning Pipe. (I looked for Red Rapparee, and it was not avail at 2 e-tailers. Rattray's is hot right now and may prove difficult to obtain, but we can still go with it if we want)

Dec: Christmas Cheer

Jan: University Flake (we could go with Irish Flake, but I felt that UF had greater variation from the last month, but it will be group choice)

I'm cool with either UF or IF. I like both of them quite well.

I definitely would vote for Nightcap over EMP, though. Not that I have anything against EMP, just not really all that interested in it at the moment.

I would also like to add that for the next quarter I would like to see us do another blender specific cycle. We did this once with C&D and once with Hearth and Home and everyone seemed to like it.

EMP over Nightcap. I am fine with whichever winds up in Jan.

I don't see any of the G&H Twists done for TOTM. I have to admit that there my favorite tobaccos, but always like to see fellow T&Puffers thoughts on tobaccos I like.

EDIT: By the way Ewlewis, you have been doing a fine job on TOTM , Well Done Bud!

Aye. Black Irish or Black XX would be good ones to consider. Lovely smokes.

Always wanted to give these two a go. I loved the pigtail a friend send me years ago. Black and brown mixed to his preferred suggestion.

So it seems that Nightcap, Christmas Cheer, and University Flake are going to most likely be the ones we go with.

I would like to also add that it seems we have some that would like the next rotation to be of one blender, but then we also have some recommendation for specific blends. What I am getting to is if there is a person that is willing to look over the last three (this one included) discussions for TOTM and chart the baccys recommended but not chosen. That would be to review the thread titled "TOTM: Nov. - Jan.", "TOTM: Aug. - Oct.", and "TOTM: May - July". I know this compilation will be a lot of work but it would be see what blends have been continuously passed over for further consideration.

Didn't take as long as I thought to go through them. I went back until the Nov-Jan rotation from last year, basically all of the 3 month cycles. I didn't check any of the single months before that.

If it was chosen as a TOTM, I removed it from the list.

I tried to keep the counts going of how many people either mentioned it outright or +1'd it with a vote / agreement for that month. Not guaranteeing accuracy on those counts or that I may have missed one in the mix as I didn't go back and recheck.

The individual blends were:

Balkan Sasieni: Balkan Sasieni - 1
Cornell & Diehl: After Hours Flake - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Black Frigate - 3
Cornell & Diehl: Blockade Runner - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Burley Flake #3 - 2
Cornell & Diehl: Captain Bob's Blend - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Easy Times - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Night Train - 4
Cornell & Diehl: Old Hollywood - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Opening Night - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Pegasus - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Sunday Picnic - 1
Dan Tobacco: Hamborger Veermaster - 1
Dan Tobacco: Malthouse, The - 1
Dan Tobacco: Old Ironsides - 1
Davidoff: Flake Medallions - 2
Dunhill: Deluxe Navy Rolls - 1
Dunhill: Early Morning Pipe - 3
Dunhill: My Mixture 965 - 1
Erinmore: Erinmore Flake - 2
G.L. Pease: Lagonda - 1
G.L. Pease: Meridian - 1
G.L. Pease: Quiet Nights - 1
G.L. Pease: Telegraph Hill - 1
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Best Brown #2 - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Black Irish Twist - 3
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Brown Flake, Scented - 1
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Ennerdale Flake - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Kendal's Kentucky - 1
Hearth & Home: AJ's VaPer - 1
Hearth & Home: Distinguished Penguin - 1
Hearth & Home: Lakeland Brickle - 1
Hearth & Home: Lakeland Brickle Fortissimo - 1
Hearth & Home: LJ Heart Virginia - 1
J.M. Boswell: Northwoods - 1
Mac Baren: Navy Flake - 1
McClelland: British Woods - 1
McClelland: Matured Virginias: No.22 - 1
Peretti: Blend No.333 - 1
Peretti: Thanksgiving Day - 1
Peter Heinrichs: Special Selection: Curley - 1
Peter Stokkebye: Balkan Supreme - 1
Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Bullseye Flake - 1
Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Navy Flake - 6
Peterson: Irish Flake - 3
Pipeworks & Wilke: Gramercy Park - 1
Rattray: Red Rapparee - 2
Robert Lewis: 123 Mixture - 1
Robert McConnell: Oriental - 1
Samuel Gawith: Black XX Rope - 3
Samuel Gawith: Brown Pigtail - 2
Solani: Silver Flake - 1
Uhle's: Blend 300 - 2
Wessex: Burley Slice - 2

There was also a call for some overall brands or categories within a brand to choose.

Butera: Any except Kingfisher or Pelican - 1
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Any Twist - 3
Esoterica: Any except Penzance or Stonehaven - 1
Rattray: Any - 1

Based on this the brands listed where we have 3 or more items and could easily do a 3 month rotation with them just from past suggestions are:

Butera
Cornell & Diehl
Dan Tobacco
Dunhill
Esoterica
G.L. Pease
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.
Hearth & Home
Peter Stokkebye
Rattray

Finally I sorted by the most requested items. I left out anything that got only a single mention.

Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Navy Flake - 6
Cornell & Diehl: Night Train - 4
Cornell & Diehl: Black Frigate - 3
Dunhill: Early Morning Pipe - 3
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Black Irish Twist - 3
Peterson: Irish Flake - 3
Samuel Gawith: Black XX Rope - 3
Cornell & Diehl: Burley Flake #3 - 2
Davidoff: Flake Medallions - 2
Erinmore: Erinmore Flake - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Best Brown #2 - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Ennerdale Flake - 2
Rattray: Red Rapparee - 2
Samuel Gawith: Brown Pigtail - 2
Uhle's: Blend 300 - 2
Wessex: Burley Slice - 2

In that last bunch we have 3 mentions each for a C&D or G&H products. It seems like this may make a likely starting point for the Feb. - Apr. rotation selection, simply based on past suggestions. Below are all of the C&D / G&H products mentioned at this point.

Cornell & Diehl: After Hours Flake - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Black Frigate - 3
Cornell & Diehl: Blockade Runner - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Burley Flake #3 - 2
Cornell & Diehl: Captain Bob's Blend - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Easy Times - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Night Train - 4
Cornell & Diehl: Old Hollywood - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Opening Night - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Pegasus - 1
Cornell & Diehl: Sunday Picnic - 1

Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Any Twist - 3
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Best Brown #2 - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Black Irish Twist - 3
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Brown Flake, Scented - 1
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Ennerdale Flake - 2
Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co.: Kendal's Kentucky - 1

Good work... he's even got each list alphabetized :!:

Reminds me of a little one I posted on the joke thread recently...

Q: what's 2+2?

A1 (Mathematician): I'll have to work out the proof...
A2 (Engineer): Nominally 4, +/- the tolerances of your measurement.
A3 (Statistician, whispering, after drawing the blinds and closing the door): What do you want it to be?
