Some people might think it disgusting that I use my own sebum from my nose or forehead

I have read about this trick and sometimes many of us use it without to notice it [unconsciously], especially in hot days we sweep our forehead or the area under our eye to remove drops of sweat for example. The very next moment we grab our bowl transferring this way a "natural wax" on it, this makes the wood a little bit darker and gives a very thin coat of protection.
I don't use that trick in purpose because for a strong layer of protection i trust my buffing wheels.

Thanks, Sid :)
I apply sebum deliberately to keep my vulcanite stems from oxidising too badly. This is not something I would do to other people's pipes, naturally, and would sterilise any pipe I was parting with; this should not need to be stated.

I was told of the sebum some years ago. Amazing how we can pick up these tips.
Hope you can have a good day with a few nice pipes, Kev. Hope to arrange a meet soon.
Added any more pipes to the collection?

Yeah, I could've sworn I'd seen you do it, too! :)
Just let me know when you're free. I'll text you some possible dates soon, if you still use your mobile 'phone.
I haven't bought a pipe in ages; just stocking up on leaf :)
