It will also be my most expensive pipe... SWMBO won't be told that of course.... :)

The trouble with these SWMBO's is that they have an uncanny knack of finding out! A reply like "No Dear! I've had this pipe for years" just never works.

I made a mistake when we moved last time, she saw all my fishing rods in one place. Never again.

Same with my pipes. I've reached that critical mass where she cannot tell how many I own. Car, camper, boat, shop and garage. Never will she see all of them at once.

I'm a believer in a distributed tobacco cellar for this very reason. Never all in one place.

I still use the "And exactly how many pairs of shoes and handbags do You have Dear?" ploy...and of course never get an answer!

Hpoe you all enjoy your pipes when you get them!

But in your neck of the woods fishing rods are (or at least should be) considered a necessity. :)

I'm a sucker. I try to hide new acquisitions, but invariably, at some point, I can't stop myself from holding it up as I'm breaking it in and asking her what she thinks of it.

It's been 8 years and she's still around so I guess I'm doing OK though.

I sort of own up eventually. Seems women like suckers like us. :)

I wouldn't swap mine for anything.

I guess after 32 years she came to that conclusion also.

Fellas, that is one aspect I can't complain about. The better half never hassles me over pipe purchases and trusts I will not go crazy and keep priorities in line. I know when its OK to buy financially, and when to wait. So far so good!!

How is this coming along, any updates? I was on the tail end of the list so I reckon most will get theirs in hand well before I do, but am trying to plan my purchasing over the next 6 months. No, wait, I never plan pipe stuff, that is a delusion. But anyway, it would be nice to know when to expect to have to lay out some cash for this.

Thanks.

Me too.

Sorry for the late response. I've been really busy lately with not much spare time at all.

I haven't heard from Les after he sent me the last set of pictures. I'll send Les an e-mail tomorrow to see what's up. I have to believe the pipes are nearly done.

Jim, the actual pipe is only 42g, the extra ounce is the .999 fine silver band, so it's like carrying a metals vault around with you. ;)

Message from Les:

"Dolly tells me you are next to have the silver mounting done that will make 10 pipes ready for sending some time next week, or the start of the week after. Can you let me know were the first 10 should go to and we will be working on another ten after that."

I've asked Les to clarify what "where the first ten will go" means. It was my belief that each member would deal directly with Les as I didn't really want to collect money, pay him, receive the pipes, and re-ship them out to each member. That will incur more shipping costs. I don't think that's what he means as I've asked him before.

Regardless, it looks like our first ten pipes will be born shortly.
