2014 POY Information and Signup

2014 POY Information and Signup

Postby KevinM » Tue Nov 05, 2013 4:44 pm

Its official, Invicta Briars has been selected to do the 2014 POY. Pete at Invicta has graciously accepted the challenge. Through correspondence with Pete, we can get a classic shaped pipe with metal band and "T&P 2014" stamped on the shank for around $100 or less. Invicta's website indicates pipes can be finished in Walnut (lighter, more orange), or Antique (darker, more burgundy). I am not sure if we will have a finish option (ie, select the finish color we prefer), or if Pete will require we keep them all the same color. I would like to keep all the pipes the same shape (ie, billiard, lovat, Zulu, etc.) for economy of scale. Also, we need to decide if we want smooth or rusticated. If someone would be so kind as provide me information to post a poll, I will post it so we can begin the voting process. Pete indicated he would need to begin in January 2014 to get up to around 50 pipes ready for a June 2014 delivery date. So, we only have a couple of months now to get what we want nailed down and an estimated number of pipes together to get over to Pete. Basically I want to order one type of pipe such as a rusticated lovat in Walnut, or smooth billiard in antique. I think this will go a long way in keeping costs down and be a pipe all members who participate will recognize if they run across other members smoking the pipe.

I look forward to your comments on this effort. Please respond to this post if you want to sign up so I can begin keeping a tally. You can reply with your shape/finish preferences, but I would appreciate it if you wait for the poll for shape/finish preferences so I can keep track.

Thanks!!!

In for 2014 POY

In! :D

Did you mean that you need some help creating a poll here or did you just want some suggestions about what to include as choices?

Thanks.

:?: :?: :?:

I like the idea of their cavalier a lot. I know I'll probably be out-voted... but you all can be wrong - and I'll consider lots of other shapes and finishes.

What I meant is that I need a tutorial to set up the poll to allow members to vote :D I know what I want you to vote on

As far as eligibility for sign up, if you are a member in good standing and can post, then you are eligible!!

ok, then Kevin! ;) You already know how to start a new thread, just scroll to the bottom of the screen and you'll see a tab for Polls. Click that and just follow the directions, then submit it like any other message. Easy as falling in love!

I'm probably in, depending on what shape, size, finish, etc. gets voted in.
Until then it's hard to commit or even comment.
