October 2016 TAD

Postby ratatosk » Tue Oct 04, 2016 2:47 am

I've gotten away from a lot of baccy buying lately, but Dunhill is on sale (5 for 4) at smokingpipes and probably some other vendors as well, so:

Dunhill: Eizabethan Mixture 50g x 5
Dunhill: Royal Yacht 50g x 10
Dunhill: Deluxe Navy Rolls 50g x 5

Basically a kilo of the stuff that I find myself smoking every day now. I'll probably switch off to some latakia blends as the weather cools, god knows I have plenty of those around.

Anyway, Dunhill goes on sale in October and April for future reference.

All done, Richard!
A good amount of tobacco there and it will be enjoyed, I know.
No such luck with offers here, I'm afraid.
I'm buying St. Bruno Flake when I can and simply storing it. Smoking some blends from Kevla and several other folk here who have donated samples. All good stuff.
Recently quite taken with Player's Navy Cut Flake, a mild Virginia blend.
Happy smoking Richard. Keeping well these days?

Glad you're still playing.
I'm still tutoring and giving workshops, though the latter vary according to what the gallery or art club want at the time, or whether they want it at all.
Taken on a new tutorial client yesterday, and the session was good.
Also taken on some training for myself in being tutored by another artist. An initial great session on Monday and I'm hoping to attend as many as I reasonably can.
Thoroughly enjoying the pipes, even more so these days.

Richard, that's a nice Dunhill haul!

DH is on sale on pipesandcigars as well (I didn't know it goes on sale biannually!), and I too stocked up on Elizabethan Mixture (6 tins), although I also purchases two 4-ounce tins of the Plum Pudding Reserve (definitely NOT on sale).

I'm hoping to cellar the majority of the Elizabethan Mixture, if I don't break down and smoke it all first1

I've managed to acquire eight pouches of St. Bruno Ready Rubbed at much reduced prices, five from a UK tobacconist that has closed down and three from a fellow piper who bought them and found they weren't to his taste. Overall, I've saved about £21 on the full price. As I'm trying to cellar as much of it as I can, it's a good deal. Not bought anything else this month, though!

Same boat here, Steve! Not another baccy purchase until mid-November :|
