Peterson's University Flake=? Age

Postby Dodger » Thu Nov 16, 2017 9:55 pm

Recently opened a tin of Peterson's University Flake and am wondering how old it is .I acquired about 3 years ago and it was said to be 12 years old .
It is in a approx 2x4x1" tin with a green painted lid with made in Ireland and a health warning 89/622/EEC .I can only remember the blue painted tin ,so when did it change ?
Regardless of that it is a beautiful smoke and has only dried out a little and is still moist for it's age .

This one?

I had forgotten about the tin art, etc., but I remember it all now. Not sure when it changed, probably after 2000 though.

I’ve not seen that particular tin art before. Sounds a great experience. Aging like that can only make for a very fine smoke indeed, so enjoy it even more.

I’m still getting to know University Flake. I enjoy it a lot. That aged tin you have is so cool. A memorable smoking experience for sure.
