Peterson Signature Flake

Postby Geo3rge » Sun Jan 21, 2018 9:10 am

I bought a tin of this a couple of years ago and most of it has beeen sitting in a jar since.
Large flakes, good to look at, speckled mid brown in colour.
Recently opened the jar and filled a meerschaum with it. I usually rub out rather than fold and stuff.
Lights easily and keeps lit. The taste is grassy and peppery, slightly spicy. Not overly sweet, the tartness that I sometimes get from Virginias is apparent but gentle.
Tobacco from Africa and Brazil in this one with no toppings.
If it were a daily blend I can see no problems, just a pleasant, medium smoke that delivers. No heavy or outstanding flavours but a general all-round simple balance.
Not a complex or rich Flake; mid-range and easy-going.
Enjoyed it!
Moi, fumer une pipe, naturellement...

I thought it more mild to medium but still a fine smoke .
The shame is that it only comes in 100g tins .
