G.L. Pease Telegraph Hill

I was really smitten with Chelsea Morning, and couldn't wait to try this. So far I have been limited to "drugstore" tobaccos, this is a first experience with Virginias/periques. I like this one, not as much as I enjoyed Chelsea Morning however. It smells like tea in the tin, good for me because I like tea. I made the same mistake on the first bowl and did not dry it out a bit. Drying out helps and also a clean palate as well. I will keep smoking it, I feel it will grow on me. Just not overly excited about it yet.

The first time I tried Perique, I smelled it out of the tin and thought it smelled like old shoes.. I put the tin away for a while after that. But when I finally gave it a try I loved it. I think it took me a few bowls to start really appreciating it though. But when it all comes down to it, if you don't like a blend, and you've given it an honest chance, then just like anything else - move on to another blend! Put it away (I recommend jarring it) and come back to it in a few months or a year and maybe you will find that you like it.
MY PIPE
When love grows cool, thy fire still warms me;
When friends are fled, thy presence charms me.
If thou art full, though purse be bare,
I smoke and cast away all care!

It is starting to grow on me. To others who have smoked this, did you get a good nicotine hit off of Telegraph Hill? I sure did, I almost buckled. I quit cigs in December, and have not had that feeling in a long while.
